"Marina" Selected for 6th Annual National Photography Competition & Exhibition

I am honored to announce that my image, “Marina” has been selected for the 6th Annual National Photography Competition & Exhibition sponsored by the Allegany Arts Council in Cumberland, Maryland.

This has become a very popular and competitive event, and I had been planning to use the opening in gorgeous western Maryland as a stepping stone to visit good friends in the state. The pandemic has transitioned the exhibition to an online event, which will open Saturday, June 27 and runs until July 18th.

The event website is nicely done with sections for invited artists, the digital gallery, and award winners (which will be announced on the 27th).

This is the second national exhibition for which “Marina” has been selected—earlier this year it appeared in the Midwest Center for Photography’s Annual Juried Art Exhibition.

Marina conveys the geometry and humanity of the boathouse community common to marinas in many places.
