The Visual Music exhibition opened on Friday night, August 2 at the Vashon Center for the Arts.

The goal of Visual Music is to create an image that is inspired by a song.

I have two artworks in the exhibition:

Welcome to the Working Week
Inspired by the Elvis Costello song, some elements of this piece should be recognizable by commuters who travel to downtown Seattle via the water taxi. And other elements are, let’s say, transformational.

trail of broken hearts
The k.d. lang song has such a wistful mood that it brings to mind this photograph of eastern Washington. This place is hot and very dry; the sound of the constant wind underscores a sad feeling about what aspirations were fulfilled here and those that were not.
